Stock Market Weekly update -Jun 9

 We closed out the week at a new all time high in the SPX, though market breath is still weak. AAPL closed near its all time high for the 3rd time in the past 12 months -WWDC event this week. WMT rallied to another new all time high, but gave some back on Friday, leaving a weekly tail bar on the chart. NVDA splits 10:1 on Monday.  Next week we get the CPI report and the Fed, both on Wednesday. 

Positive Jobs report on Friday?

NVDA predictably closed around the 1200 level, so no one got paid holding the massive amounts of Calls & Puts above & below 1200 which expired worthless on Friday (except for the market makers of course!).

The Dollar -was up a bit
The 10 year Interest rate (4.43%)  -also up

Gold dropped for a 3rd week
Oil -also dropped for a 3rd week
Bitcoin/Crypto -somewhat flat

  We saw lots of ‘chop’ last week, ending just below where we started, with tariff uncertainty still hanging over the market. The DOW lagged as it dumped on Thursday after UNH reported earnings. Long term rates pulled back a bit while Gold continued to rocket higher, closing near $3326. This week we get more earnings including GOOGL & TSLA,  04/06:  Hedging against losses… How? If you got ahead of the tariff announcement on Monday Mar 31st using an Inverse ETF like SQQQ (SPXS, SOXS, etc) , it was up approximately 30% that week! Note that Leveraged ETFs should only be used for short term trading. Stock Market Weekly update -Nov 24

  The SPX recovered from the prior week drop, moving from 5870 to close on Friday at 5970. The other indexes also rallied, with the DOW closing at the prior all time high from 2 weeks ago. Long term Interest rates stayed mostly flat as the Dollar continued to rally. Gold had a big recovery rally. NVDA reported blowout numbers again, but the stock dropped! TGT tanked after earnings, still dropping since its peak in Aug 2021. WMT popped on earnings to another all time high (a DOW stock rallying like a tech stock since its bottom in May 2022) -this was its 4th earnings pop this year. This will be a short trading week because of the Thanksgiving holiday. This week:   Schwab Weekly Trader's Outlook   Market is closed on Thursday The 10 year Interest rate -flat at 4.4% The Dollar - rallying for 8 weeks now 107.5 Gold - rallied to $2715 Oil -rallied  to 71.10 Bitcoin/Crypto :  - another big rally to around 99.5k! Stock Market Weekly update -Jul 20

  The S&P500 was up slightly, hitting new al time highs and closing just under 6300. while the Nasdaq100 closed just over 23,000, and NVDA popped to close at a market cap of $4.2 trillion, now the largest company in the world. PLTR also hit another all time high.  TSM popped, but NFLX pulled back after reporting earnings. Some of the big banks pulled back as well. Bitcoin pulled back to 118,000 after peaking at 123k last weekend. Ethereum on the other hand saw a huge 22% rally for the week, after rallying 16% the prior week! The GENIUS Act was finally passed, which outlines a regulatory framework for Stablecoins . Headline CPI year-over-year increased 2.7%. Retail Sales: Increased slightly. Stocks still look pretty extended after this huge rally from the April lows, so be careful and don't forget to take some profits!
